Our social marketing program distributes low cost and free condoms, pills and other contraceptive and health products through pharmacies, community-based distributors and other private providers.

Many of our clients live in settings where the health infrastructure is weak and there are simply not enough health workers.

We try to reach clients through a range of methods. Often we integrate community-based distribution of products within our outreach and clinics.

Sometimes we use trusted members of the community as a way of delivering health services. We empower community members to provide information, counselling and low technology primary healthcare services directly to other members of their community.

Our social marketing program particularly benefits women and men who, for whatever reason, are unlikely to ever visit a professional healthcare provider. Through social marketing, they can still access some basic family planning and reproductive health products and services.

In 2012, we provided 2 million people with family planning through our social marketing channels.
